History of Traditional Treats

Welcome to Traditional Treats, my at home bakery based out of Placerville,CA. I decided to make this a business to  share my love for baking and recipes that have been in my family for over 50 years. When I say these treats are from my family to yours, I truly mean it. Baking has been a huge part of my life since I was 6 years old.

My family has a tradition each year where we have an all day cookie bake off. We get together the day after Thanksgiving and bake until we can’t bake no more. It started out with my mom and her sisters and the tradition was passed on to me. Now it is something that my mom and I carry on together. We challenge ourselves each year to bake more than the previous year. We take pride in the quantity we bake and we keep a tally. We also like to try out new recipes, so we add a new cookie to the plate every year.

Sharing my love of baking with others is truly the reason why I bake. Being able to make a treat and having someone be reminded of a loved one who used to make that treat is the best feeling.
